Jennifer Levine was invited by the Business Council to contribute to the Business Blog regarding the development of the natural gas resources in the Marcellus Shale in central New York and the Southern Tier. Jennifer is founder of Marcellus Communications whose mission is to raise awareness about the enormous economic potential of the Marcellus Shale to business, landowners, local governments and the state of New York.
Jennifer gained exposure to issues associated with the Marcellus Shale while working for Assemblyman Gary Finch whose district includes five counties within the Marcellus play. With lifelong roots in upstate New York, Jennifer recognizes the enormous promise that the Marcellus Shale holds in revitalizing the upstate economy. By working closely with a veteran of the oil and gas industry, Jennifer has been able to contribute fact based, accurate information to the public debate over drilling and the environment.
Prior to her work with the NYS Assembly, Jennifer worked in Washington, D.C. for MCI Communications Government Relations Group on issues related to the AT&T divestiture and deregulation of the telecommunications industry.
She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a B.A. in economics. She lives in Delmar with her husband and three children.
