in August of 2008. He is responsible for the Council’s external communications function.

Moran comes to the Council from The Hartford Financial Services Group where he was an assistant vice president for media relations.

For nearly 10 years before that he served as the director of public affairs, northeast region for the American Insurance Association.

Previously, Moran worked as press secretary for Assembly Speaker Saul Weprin and as director of communications for the Civil Service Employees Association.

He has also worked as a reporter for WNYT-TV, Albany, NY, Inside Albany, WSKG-TV, Binghamton, NY and the Middletown, NY Times Herald Record.

Moran is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and holds a masters’ degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University.

He and his wife Leslie reside in Albany.
