Mr. Walter Pacholczak directs the Business Council’s advocacy efforts in the Financial Services, Transportation and Construction industries. He also serves as Director of The Business Council Political Action Committee and is a Board member of New Yorkers for Lawsuit Reform a broad based coalition of businesses, municipalities, associations and citizens working for legal reform.
Mr. Pacholczak comes to the Council from Senator Marty Golden’s office, where he served as the Senator’s Director of Operations from 2003 to 2007. He was the Campaign Manager for Golden’s successful 2002 election to the Senate in Brooklyn’s 22nd District. “Senator Golden is one of Albany’s most influential legislators because of his knowledge of the issues, tenacious work ethic and bipartisan approach to legislating. I credit Senator Golden with helping me to develop these qualities which will contribute to the Business Council’s advocacy efforts.”
Mr. Pacholczak began his career in politics volunteering for Governor Mario Cuomo and other Democratic campaigns throughout New York City. In 1995, he was an intern for the State Assembly and was hired by former Minority Leader Clarence “Rapp” Rappleyea. Mr. Pacholczak worked for Assembly Leaders Reynolds, Faso and Nesbitt. “Working for the Assembly was an exciting experience, because it enabled me to meet great people and gain a statewide perspective on the issues.”
Pacholczak also served as Director of Communications for Senator Jim Alesi. “Senator Alesi gave me with my first opportunity to work for the Majority and helped me to establish solid foundation in the Senate.”
Mr. Pacholczak is married with two children. He is a graduate of Wagner College. He is active in the New York State Conservative Party, Albany County Conservative Party and enjoys running, golfing and fine cigars.
