The Buffalo News reports Governor Cuomo is moving forward with locating a new casino in Niagara Falls and will move for a for a state-owned operation in the area. To do this, legislation will need to change to allow non-Indian casinos in upstate New York.

The expansion of Batavia Downs will begin next month.
The track’s owner, Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corp., has approved $10 million in construction bids, according to the Batavia Daily News.
The bids focused on interior work for a new first-floor gaming operation at Batavia Downs. The number of video terminals will increase from the current 640 to 779.
Another $10 million in external work is expected to be approved in May.
